First off let us remember with honor the brave who were serving our country on Pearl Harbor the morning of December 7th 1941 – 70 years ago. And bless our forefathers and mothers who gave so much in WWII so that we can bask in the glory of our Stars & Stripes, and the free choices of Democracy, today.
Four, Three, Two…….
Each of the last three rounds of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo has ended with Jhett Johnson and Turtle Powell climbing one step closer to #1 in the world standings. Their Tuesday night team roping performance in Round Six was smooth as silk:

Johnson and partner Powell are now at nearly $74,000 after six nights of competition. They are second in the world standings. Fewer than four seconds separate them from first in the average count. Their aggregate time on all six steers is 33.2 seconds. The pair from Wyoming and Texas has earned a visit to the pay window in every round.
Second Half Seth
The first half of the national finals, Wheatland’s Seth Brockman kept his head up and mind focused through five rounds of frustration. He was more than relieved following his sixth time out of the box when registering a steer wrestling run of 4.0:

Brockman’s split of third, fourth and fifth places Tuesday granted him a check for $7,600.
Gangster Beaters In Vegas
Seth Glause pocketed a lot of cash last Thursday by besting a bull called Gangster. Glause’ road warrior traveling sidekick Tyler Willis drew Gangster in Tuesday night’s sixth round and took him to the buzzer. We met the lanky duo deep in the lower halls of the Thomas & Mack Center after the round in which Glause also stayed on for the full eight:

Seth is one of those fellows who will often slip out a zinger when you least expect it. He started a strut away from our camera announcing: “I beat my personal best!” He’s got a pair of bulls conquered at this year’s national finals and was only able to finish on one the previous two engagements at the Big Show. Willis has four ridden successfully at his first finals and is second in the average. Willis & Glause are sixth and seventh in the world standings respectively.
